Mbappe to PSG
Paris Saint-Germain are set to continue a lavish summer of spending with the signing of Kylian Mbappe, Mundo Deportivo reports. They that a deal between PSG and AS Monaco has been agreed for the teenager.
They report that an announcement is ‘hours away’. The initial deal will be worth an estimated €180 million. That could reach €200m with bonuses. Real Madrid had been favourites to sign Mbappe but pulled out.
The Spanish champions were willing to pay Mbappe €7m-per-season. Reports claimed that PSG offered €12m and Mbappe wanted Madrid to match their offer. Madrid refused. Now MD say that figure has gone up to €18m annually.
Mbappe will leave Monaco under a cloud. His relationship with the club has deteriorated in recent days. A training spat with coach Leonardo Jardim led to him being left out of the Monaco squad that beat Metz 1-0 on Friday night.
PSG fire sale
If PSG completes this deal for Mbappe, they will have to bring in more than €600m over the next few seasons. This could lead to a fire sale before the end of this window. Julian Draxler and Angel Di Maria are up for grabs.
